In 2009, God ignited the vision of Freedom Church in the hearts of pastors Jason and Bonnie Ruth Rolf. God had given them a dream showing them what could be done with hearts whose only desire was to engage God, embrace people, and expand God’s kingdom. They saw God’s desire to bring His freedom to the hearts of many. The two became filled with excitement as they envisioned God using their dream to begin a movement so powerful that it would change a city. Their dream quickly spread from one heart to another and, soon, many hearts joined together to begin a new work for God.

On January 16, 2010, meeting in the gym of the McKinney YMCA, Freedom Church opened its doors to the city of McKinney. Our desire is to see people doing life together and living in freedom — freedom in faith, in family life, in daily fellowship with the world around them, and freedom in their finances. The passion of Freedom Church is to be good stewards of the resources, time, and lives that God places in our care. Our heart is for the House — God’s house. We desire to be known by our love for each other and others, so that God is glorified by our actions of serving one another, giving, and building relationships.

God has drawn in many people who have been looking for Jesus. They, like many of us, were looking for a place to belong — a church full of people who would become their friends, family and mentors; a people who believe in God’s grace, compassion, and justice, but most of all, His love for them! They were looking for a place to call “home”.
