Beliefs
The Trinity
Freedom Church believes that the Bible, as a whole, expresses God’s nature as being both One and Triune. There is only one God and, yet, He exists in three persons throughout Scripture — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God the Father
God, the Father, is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He created the universe in love. He created man in His own image, desiring a personal relationship with His creation.
The Son
Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning and through Him all things were made. To redeem mankind from sin and death, He came from Heaven to Earth by the Holy Spirit and was born through the Virgin Mary. He is forever one Christ with two natures — God and man — in one person. Colossians 1:15-20
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament and given fully to the Church at Pentecost. He gives power to the saints, equipping them to serve and tell of the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit cleanses man from the old sinful nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. Baptism in the Holy Spirit follows the acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Scripture
We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the only true and inspired Word of God. It is the ultimate authority and it is final and eternal. It cannot be diminished or added to; it cannot be replaced in any way. The Bible is the source of all doctrine and is used for instruction, correction, and reproof. It gives guidance in living a life that honors God.
Atonement
Jesusʼ death on the cross paid the price for every sin that ever has been or ever will be committed. The power of His death and resurrection are available to those who receive Him as their personal Savior. For those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Savior, God has made available healing for the body, soul, and spirit.
Salvation
According to Godʼs Word, salvation has been freely given through the death of His Son, Jesus. It is not gained through our own efforts, but is given through faith in what Christʼs death has made available to those who believe. Salvation is given through personal repentance for living a life apart from God, believing in the Lord Jesus (justification), and confession and acceptance of Him into oneʼs life as their personal Lord and Savior (regeneration), and is available to all. Through salvation, we are adopted into the Kingdom of God and share in the inheritance of His Son, Jesus.
Salvation is a choice of free-will. God loves and desires a personal relationship with mankind and desires us to choose Him in response to His love for us. It is predestined in the sense that God is omniscient, all knowing, and knew those who would choose Him. Salvation is the eternal and unchanging commitment of a loving God who does not lie and is forever the same. Salvation should produce a lifestyle that actively and lovingly obeys and serves Jesus Christ, our Savior.
